C3: Conference for Creative Content

Visual Communications, in partnership with The Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) is proud to present C3: The Conference for Creative Content, April 30 and May 1, at the 2011 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. Though uncharted and unexplored, the world of New Media has provided a playing field in which Asian Americans are no longer the minority, but thoroughly engaged at its forefront. With its burgeoning young market that has enthusiastically embraced digital and online platforms, the Asian American audience has found both a diverse and unified voice for visibility.

The C3 Conference celebrates and commemorates the successes of Asian American pioneers in New Media, and sheds light on the changing nature of entertainment while connecting audiences with producers, industry guests, and tastemakers working in TV, film, and multi-platform web content.

As more and more actors utilize new media platforms as a way to showcase their talent, new media content has become the new calling card for the next generation of actors. CONTENT IN THE CLOUD: FUTURE MODELS OF PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION

More and more consumers turn to internet and non-traditional platforms for their entertainment needs. As the cloud becomes more saturated with content and modes of consuming media, new challenges and issues regarding net neutrality, internet bandwidth caps, and sustainable profitability arise. With panelists Kevin Iwashina (Executive of Killer Digital, Preferred Content), Moye Ishimoto (Internet Content Specialist for G4), William Kendall (Co-Founder Digital Artists Agency), Naia Cucukov (Creative Exec Virgin Produced, Producer 'Limitless), Michael Lewis (Amazon Studios). These journalists and bloggers discuss their personal stories and experiences on how new media outlets like blogs, Twitter, Youtube, and cellphone journalism have investigated, inspired, and instigated the way we create and consume news. With panelists Ernie Hsuing (Founder 8Asians.com), Diana Nguyen (Co-founder Disgrasian.com), YOMYOMF.COM, Christof Putzel (Columbia-duPont award winner, Emmy-nominated journalist). Moderated by Phil Yu (Founder Angryasianman.com).

HOW TO BRAND YOUR ONLINE PERSONA

Online personalities and talent have been paving the way for Asian American talent. With new media platforms like Youtube empowering actors, gurus, writers, and musicians to create and extend their own fifteen minutes of fame, it's more possible than ever to turn yourself into a household name. These new media talent discuss the avenues and paths they have taken to become recognized online faces and names. With panelists Chester See (musician), Clara Chung (musician), Annie Leung (Guitar Hero worldchampion), Ellwyn Kauffman (Writer/Creator 'Hollywood Wasteland'). Moderated by Sarah Evershed (Founder The Cloud Media Inc.).
