this reality around.

Volunteer with One Heart Source, the first academic-intensive
orphanage in Africa for children made vulnerable by the AIDS epidemic.

global health, childhood education, and much more!

One Heart Source offers a variety of 4 to 8 week volunteer programs in both the spring and summer.
Below are the range of dates for programs; check out the website for specific dates!

Coming from darkness, animation, found footage and the exploration of visual and sonic textures describe the illness and cure of the individual in the present, the opening of other spaces and dimensions, luminous new landscapes, paranormal events. Middle East Film Series - Divine Intervention

*7pm - Fowler 202 - Wednesday Night*
***December 1st  *

Divine Intervention (2002 - 92 min. - Arabic with English subtitles). By
Israeli director Elia Suleiman. Some reviewers have compared Suleiman to
Woody Allen and Charlie Chaplin, presumably because he has Allen's
intelligent, self-deprecating humor and Chaplin's gift for silent
comedy. This not a silent film, but an intense comedy about daily life
in the West Bank and Israel.  It is a surreal black comedy that records
a day in the life of a Palestinian living in Nazareth, whose girlfriend
lives several checkpoints away in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Spring Internship Opportunity

Pistor Productions, producer Julia Pistor’s company (the producer of such movies as NACHO LIBRE, THE RUGRATS MOVIE, JIMMY NEUTRON), seeks reliable and enthusiastic Spring semester 2011 interns (starting mid-January).  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, script coverage, project research, and general office support (phones, copies).  Our company is small so interns will get to be very hands on and are encouraged to ask questions and contribute creatively.  This is perfect for candidates who have a strong interest in family film development and producing as we are now producing theatrical movies for beloved children’s properties and have recently partnered with an animation company to produce animated TV shows.  Applicants should be available for at least 2 days a week (9:45am-6:30pm), must receive college credit (this is an unpaid internship), should have strong writing skills, and a great attitude!  Please email resume and cover letter to hjb.pistorprods@gmail.com.

A performance by Vaginal Davis
in conjunction with The Artists Museum

Saturday, January 22, 2011, 8pm
Ahmanson Auditorium
MOCA Grand Ave.

Inspired by Andy Warhol's screen tests, and the midnight performances of Jack Smith, this expanded cinema piece is a new work created by Vaginal Davis, an originator of the homo-core punk movement and a gender-queer art-music icon. Berlin based, Ms Davis made her name in LA's club performance scene, and has earned herself a similar notoriety as a cultural antagonist and erotic provocateur, renowned for her performance, experimental film and video practice. This original work will be staged at MOCA for one night only and will feature production and costumes design by Jonathan Berger, and appearances by special invited guests.

Agency Internship

The Wall Group, an agency that represents some of the best hair stylists, makeup artists, and stylists out there, is looking for a paid intern. We seek a motivated and hyper-organized team player to assist in the Creative/Visual Division. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s interested in an agency career.

Intern should be available 2-3 days per week, to join the LA office. You will be able to learn how the ins and outs of an agency works -- working alongside the agents, the creative coordinator, as well as the bookkeeper.  We appreciate the following qualities: self motivated, creative, able to work independently, organized, and reliable. Duties include collecting tear sheets, maintaining the image archive, maintaining and updating offices files, keeping all filing and storage cabinets in immaculate order, assisting the bookkeeper, and running general office errands.

Interested applicants should send resumes to:
maggie@thewallgroup.com for consideration.
